Thinking of keeping bees but not sure what is involved?
Maybe you do not want to commit just yet to a full beekeeping course or maybe you are just curious to know more.
This one day introductory session is just for you! The course will be held on Saturday 11th April 2015, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., at the Millennium Hall, Cellan. near Lampeter. Cost: £15 per person, including refreshments.
Beginners’ Beekeeping Course
Our comprehensive beekeeping course, consisting of five theory classes and two practical apiary sessions, is held on Sunday afternoons from April through to June. The 2015 course starts on 19th April 2015. Cost: £75 per person or £130 per couple (includes your first year’s membership of Lampeter & District Beekeepers’ Association).

Introduction to Beekeeping days
This course is aimed at people who are considering taking up beekeeping or wanting to learn more about bees. The course aims to provide a background into practical beekeeping and an afternoon session with the bees. It is designed as a taster session to enable people to decide whether to pursue beekeeping and will give you the necessary information to take it further.
- Learn the basics of beekeeping including hive construction and siting

Meet the Bees!
Come for a short introductory session to meet our honeybees! You will be fully kitted up in beekeepers protective clothing and be prepared to be enthralled by the inside working of the beehive and the complex social activity of the queen and her workers.
